Born Feb 3, 1917 at Woodstock to the late Asa and Celia (Stairs) MacFarlane. He is survived by his children; Michael Ray ( Cindy) St Stephen NB, James ( Bettina) Watson Settlement , Stephen John (Laurel) Fort Saskatchewan, AB, G Peter ( Noelle) Prince George BC. 6 Grand Children and several, nieces & nephews. Besides his parents Raymond was predeceased by Wife Thora (Weller) MacFarlane and sister, Madeline Milbury and infant sister Iris.
Raymond was a World War II Vet and a salesman by trade for many years.
Resting at the Carleton Funeral Home in Jacksonville where friends may call on Monday January 8, 2007 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be heldTuesday at 2:00 pm from the Carleton Funeral Home Chapel with the Venerable Walter Williams officiating. Interment will be held in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the a memorial of donors choice. "A history of Londonderry, NH", pub 1851:
Ordained in 1701. Said to have been in Londonderry at the time of the Seige and it is claimed that he discharged the gun from the cathedral tower whcih warned of the approach of the relief ships. He emigrated with his followers in 1718 and founded the town of Nutfield, New Hampshire, now Londerry, NH, in 1719. They obtained a grant of 100 square miles of land. Each settler got 120 acres, divided into a home lot and an away lot. Three home lots were along the river and formed what was called a double range.

The first minister, Mr. William Jacque, was ordained in 1655, but in 1659 was ordered to remove to Clongish, Co. Longford. Mr. Thomas Boyd was minister of AGHADOWEY in 1660 and received the tithes. He was deposed for nonconformity in 1661 but continued to minister locally. He was Clerk of the Route Presbytery in 1671. At the Revolution he retired to Derry and was there during the Siege. He returned to AGHADOWEY and apparently had charge of Macosquin too. He died 1699.
James McGregor, who was born at Magilligan was ordained 25 June 1701. As a youth he had been in Derry during the Siege. In 1705 the meeting house was either rebuilt or enlarged. AGHADOWEY Session book is extant and covers Mr. McGregor’s ministry and part of the next ministry.
In 1718 Mr. McGregor and a portion of the AGHADOWEY congregation emigrated to New England and founded LONDONDERRY, New Hampshire. His son David became minister of West LONDONDERRY. Mr. McGregor died on 5 Mar 1729 and is buried at LONDONDERRY N.H.

Lesson 2: Seeds of Discontent
In 1718 , a group of Ministers : Rev . William Boyd of Macosquin , Rev . William Cornwall of Clogher , Rev. William Elliot , Rev. James Woodside , Rev. James McGregor and Rev. William Tennet all travelled with groups of emigrants and founded the township of New Londonderry in New Hampshire.
In his farewell sermon at Coleraine, Minister James McGregor said , "We must say farewell to friends , relations and our native land so that we may withdraw from the communion of idolators and have the opportunity of worshipping God according to the dictates of conscience and the rules of his inspired word."(1)
