RALPH DE TOENI VII, son and heir, was born 1255. His marriage and the
custody of his lands were granted respectively to the Earl of Hereford
and Essex and to Edmund, the King's son, 12 May 1264, but both were
granted to Richard de Brus, 8 August 1265. He had a protection, going to
the March on the King's affairs, 18 November 1276; was summoned for
service in Wales, 1277, 1282, 1283 and 1287, and to the Assembly at
Shrewsbury, 1283; and nominated attorneys, going beyond seas with the
Earl of Hereford and Essex, 10 May 1285. Being summoned for service in
Gascony, 1294, he was taken prisoner at Risonces, 31 March 1295, and sent
to Paris. He married, before 1276, Mary, who was living, 1283. He died,
presumably as a prisoner, before 29 July 1295 in France.

RALPH DE TOENI VII, son and heir, was born 1255. His marriage and the
custody of his lands were granted respectively to the Earl of Hereford
and Essex and to Edmund, the King's son, 12 May 1264, but both were
granted to Richard de Brus, 8 August 1265. He had a protection, going to
the March on the King's affairs, 18 November 1276; was summoned for
service in Wales, 1277, 1282, 1283 and 1287, and to the Assembly at
Shrewsbury, 1283; and nominated attorneys, going beyond seas with the
Earl of Hereford and Essex, 10 May 1285. Being summoned for service in
Gascony, 1294, he was taken prisoner at Risonces, 31 March 1295, and sent
to Paris. He married, before 1276, Mary, who was living, 1283. He died,
presumably as a prisoner, before 29 July 1295 in France.

Lord of Flamstead, Hertfordshire. In 1103 he supported the claim of Rainald de Grancei to the Barony of Breteuil. He crossed to England to obtain his father's lands, and returned to Normandy in 1104 as an ardent supporter of Henry. He took part in the battle of Tinchebrai on 28 Sep. 1106. When rebellion broke out in Normandy against Henry in 1119, he remained faithful. In 1120 he was with Henry at Rouen. Muchedent, is a suburb of Dieppe in Normandy. The church were he was babtized is still there. Romain was the son of Charles de Trespagny and Marie Marette. He settled on the Beaupre coast, particularly at Chateau-Richer. In the census of 1667, he already had five children, but no mention of any ownership of land or cattles, indicating that perhasp he was making his living in some other way. In the 1681 census, all of his children had been born, and he was listed as having, 14 arpents of land, and 13 cows.
Muchedent is mentioned for the first time in around 1030 in the charte of Robert Duc de Normandy, and it was in 1485 that Regnault de Muchedent constructed the Manor.
In 1575 Yolande de Muchedent sold her land to Michel Le Carruyer, whose family was "nobled" by Henry IX after the battle of Arques (1589), (where the king won over the Duc de Mayenne). Following the victory, five Trespagny brother were also "nobled". Thus the"De Trespagny" symbol.

See note on Jean. Claude settled in Louisianna. His wife Genevieve Burel was from Mobile, Alabama. Claude served in the garnison at Fort Maurepas, contructed by Iberville in the Bay of Biloxi. He also helped build and served at Fort Louis in Mobile in 1702. He married Genevieve Burel there, who had arrived on the "Pelican" with her parents.

Jean and his brother Claude had been involved with Pierre LeMoyne d'Iberville and his advanture against the English in the Hudson Bay. As well they went with him to Plaisance, Newfoundland and Louisianna. Jean died before founding a family. They went with him to Rochefort, France where d'Iberville was asked to go to Louisisanna. Jean died on the way between Cuba and Biloxi. Jean is listed as having died at Fort Maurepas, in the small book on the fort prepared by Jay Higginbotham. His death is listed as 31 Dec 1699.
